What To Pack In Your Hospital Bag

 Getting ready for the hospital can be exciting and nerve-wracking! Here’s a list of must-pack items for a smooth labor, delivery, and postpartum stay:

For Mom

✅ Important Documents – ID, insurance card, hospital paperwork, birth plan (if you have one)
✅ Comfortable Clothing – Loose pajamas or a robe, nursing-friendly tops, maternity leggings or joggers
✅ Slippers or Flip-Flops – Easy to slip on for walking around
✅ Socks – Hospitals can be chilly
✅ Nursing Bra & Breast Pads – Even if you’re not breastfeeding, you may leak
✅ Toiletries – Toothbrush, toothpaste, face wash, lip balm (hospitals are dry!), hairbrush, deodorant
✅ Hair Ties or Clips – Keeps hair out of your face during labor
✅ Snacks & Drinks – Hospital food isn't always enough, and labor is exhausting! Pack protein bars, nuts, or easy snacks
✅ Phone & Charger – A long charging cable is a lifesaver
✅ Chapstick & Lotion – Hospital air is dry
✅ Adult Diapers or Postpartum Underwear – More comfortable than the hospital’s mesh ones
✅ Going Home Outfit – Loose-fitting, maternity-friendly outfit
✅ Pillow & Blanket – Hospital ones aren’t the comfiest

For Baby

🍼 Going Home Outfit – Size NB and 0-3M (you never know how big baby will be!)
🍼 Hat & Mittens – Helps keep baby warm and prevents scratching
🍼 Swaddle or Blanket – Hospitals provide some, but it’s nice to have your own
🍼 Car Seat – Install it before heading to the hospital!
🍼 Diapers & Wipes – Hospital provides some, but extras are good
🍼 Pacifier – Optional, depending on your feeding plan

For Partner/Support Person

👕 Change of Clothes – It could be a long stay
🥤 Snacks & Drinks – They’ll need energy too!
📱 Phone Charger – Can’t miss capturing those first moments
🧴 Toiletries – Toothbrush, deodorant, etc.
🛏️ Blanket & Pillow – Hospital chairs aren’t comfy

Extras (Nice to Have)

✨ Essential Oils or Calming Items – If you like aromatherapy
✨ Labor Playlist & Speaker – Music can be soothing
✨ Cooling or Heating Pack – For pain relief
✨ Massage Tool or Tennis Ball – Helps with back labor
✨ Notebook & Pen – For jotting down details or questions
